About Chef Zakir



Chef Zakir is also known as Muhammad Zakir Qureshi was born 16 February 1967 in Karachi, Pakistan. He is famous cooking expert. His family was basically from Bombay (Indore), India.

Education:

He started his education from Kulsoom Bai Valika School, Karachi. Then he went to Govt. Boys School of Santabad to complete his matriculation. After then, he complete his intermediate from Allama Iqbal College.

Professional Career:

He started his cooking career in 1980 by practicing at Karachi Sheraton Hotel. After 6 month he went to Avari Hotel for more practicing. After a year he went to Karachi PC Hotel.

Practical Life:

He got married in the year 1986. It was arranged marriage. He has 5 children in which there are 3 girls and 2 boys.

Further Studies:

After 6 months, he moved to Dubai where he spent 2 years working in one or two famous restaurants. Then he moved to Singapore in 1988. After a year he moved to South Africa for 7 years, where he studied there and done some job as well in various restaurants. After that, he moved on to Batswana for 3 years.

Television Career:

After staying in UK, he return to Pakistan and he first joined Indus TV. Then he started working for Hum TV in year 2006. After that he joined Masala TV in year 2007-8. Now he is working for Dawn NEWS.

Business:

He is running his own restaurants Clifton Grill and Shan-e-Mughlia, Karachi, Pakistan.

Hobby:

He only hobby is Cooking.

Favorite Place:

His favorite place is Madina and God Cape town in Europe.

Still Learning:

Till now he is still feeling his experience that whenever any new recipe occurs, he studies them, understand them and then he cook them.

Inspiration:

He got the inspiration from his father named Mr. Abdul Aziz Qureshi, who was a great chef of that time. His father worked as a chef for PIA. In was in 1960’s when all the foreign people appreciated his father’s cooking and on hearing this he was very impressed of his father.
